TELEMEDICINE SOFTWARE FOR GLAUCOMA SCREENING
Nearly half of people affected by glaucoma do not know they have the disease.
This screening test is is a virtual perimetry system, that allows self-testing on any standard computer monitor and can reveal the first signs of glaucoma.
The purpose of the test is to detect signs of visual field loss / glaucoma, before it is too late for the vision.
The test will address undiagnosed glaucoma as we hope that it will reach patients unaware of their problem, before the natural progression of glaucoma eliminates viable treatment options.
The software supports virtual reality glasses.
This is a supra-threshold test. It takes 2-3-minutes per eye and will help users become aware of any significant defects in theirs visual fields.
Patients can use it to test their visual fields at their home computers. The test can be downloaded freely from: http://visual-field.com
The patient selects a registered doctor on a map and sends the exam by email.
Telemedicine is a useful tool for glaucoma screening, but we are unable to review all the patient’s visual fields.
So, we welcome all ophthalmologists interested to register.
